Human Trafficking Gang and Loan Shark Arrested

Chonburi navy and police have arrested a human trafficking gang and a male loan shark in accordance with The National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) that intends to eliminate trouble and suffering to Thai people from various crimes and to return happiness.

SATTAHIP – July 16, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 3.00 p.m., at Nakbanphot meeting room, Sattahip police station, Chonburi province, Captain Khomphan Ouppalanon (Director of Joint Operations and Intelligence, Sattahip Naval Base), Pol.Col. Chonnaphat Nawalak (Superintendent of Sattahip police station), Pol.Lt.Col. Niphon Pomsanarm (Deputy Superintendent), Pol.Lt.Col. Pawatchai Sudsakhon (Deputy Superintendent) and forces of the navy and police together made a statement about the arrest of Mrs Nong Phimphannee, aged 48, Cambodian nationality, in allegations of being an alien who had been working without permission and providing work for aliens to work in the kingdom of Thailand without permission. She was caught with 2 books which contain expense and labour cost. Also Mr. Thanasak or Sing Senna, aged 28, was arrested under the allegations of lending money to other people with high interest rate which over the rate specified by the law and exhibits of 1 accounting book which contained the name of loan customers at a sum of 13,000 THB.


Pol.Lt.Col. Niphon Pomsanarm revealed that after The National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) commanded the officers of every area to clamp down and arrest any illegal alien workers, human trafficking and loan shark, which caused problems to society. Therefore, the officers had followed up to arrest Mrs. Nong (the agent of arranging for alien workers in Ban Bang Sarey community) who was paid 10,000 THB for arranging each alien worker. Furthermore, the officers also arrested Mr Thanasak who was a loan shark who charged 20% interest per loan to sailors’ housewives in the navy area. This clampdown was ordered by the (NCPO) who intend to eliminate the trouble and suffering of Thai people from various crimes and to return happiness to Thai people.
