Pattaya, 11th of November 2009 [Pattaya Daily News]: Huay Yai police station, on the 10th of November, was flooded with the families of the local community who had come to surrender photographs of sons and male family members. This gesture is helping police to present a portfolio of photographs to the 16 year old girl who was gang raped on 2 occasions by a group of youths believed to number in the fifties.
The young girl positively identified a further 15 males involved from the photographs provided by parents. Police have asked the courts for the 15 arrest warrants to be issued allowing them to arrest the accused teens ASAP.

Police Major General Phaksuwat Chomthanom, chief inspector at Huay Yai police station, has alerted all the families in the region as to what has happened in relation to the rape case, hoping to appeal to the publics hearts in an attempt to catch the remaining boys. Police have also asked families to speak to their children to see if they have any further information on the case or are even possibly involved.

So far police have arrested 11 teens in relation to the rape of a 16 year old girl on two separate occasions in the months of August and October of 2009. With the expected arrest count to reach over 30 in the next few days’s police believe that they are close to finding the remaining culprits.

The local courts have been kept busy by Huay Yai police recently with over 15 warrant applications waiting for approval. However with the continued persistence of the police on this very sad case many more applications will hopefully follow.
