However, Thailand’s Constitution Court is not scheduled to issue its ruling on whether three election-related organic laws comply with the amended Constitution until Monday.

PM Abhisit said there has been no change in his plan to submit the House dissolution decree for royal endorsement.
He believed that the change could be done and that nothing could affect his timetable.

PM Abhisit also added that the court’s schedule to rule on three elction-related organic laws on May 9 is within the court’s jurisdiction and he could not intervene.

Discussions proceeded smoothly at a political parties meeting hosted by the Electrion Commission two days ago, PM said.

If the political parties intend to have a peaceful and fair election, he said, it would be good for the country and comply with the intention of the government to have an early general election.

Mr Abhisit admitted that the upcoming general election would be a vigorous competition but he expected it would not be fierce and violence-plagued. He believed the election watchdog agency could handle the election to run smoothly
