Hookah Still Being SoldPattaya officers have raid 2 restaurants after they found out that they were still selling Hookah to customers after it had been banned many months ago.
PATTAYA-20th October- [PattayaDailyNews] at 03.00 am Mr.Chakorn Kanchanawatta- chief district of Bang Lamung- was accompanied with Mr,Ronnarong Thipsiri- director of the Investigation and legal Affairs bureau-, Mr.Prapan Prathumcompoo- deputy chief of stabilization- and VADMPorndit Chitramwong- deputy chief of the prevention decision- and 20 village leaders to inspect 2 restaurants in Pattaya after the officers were notified that they were selling illegal things.
The officers inspected Zit Lebanon restaurant where they found both Thais and Middle-East men drinking and smoking Hookah. The officers then confiscated the equipment and prosecuted Mr.Thanet Petsri aged 46 the restaurant owner.
In addition, the officers arrested Mr.Chaiwat Sareebud aged 39 who owned the B-Boy bar which is located on Pattaya 3rd road because he had sold Hookah bongs, he was also prosecuted.
Mr.Chakorn revealed that the officers found out that they had sold the illegal bongs to customers after it had been banned months ago by the Commercial Ministry. The owners now face criminal prosecution according to Thai law.
