Homeless Maniac Allowed To Run Wild On Street

A mentally-ill man is disrupting traffic around Sattahip by running recklessly along roads and disregarding cars. People are afraid he will be killed by a vehicle, but authorities seem unconcerned. A journalist reported the man’s family is very poor, so they let him roam freely to face his fate.

SATTAHIP – March 9, 2013 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 8 a.m. a journalist went to check reports from people that a mad man was walking and running on the road in front of Krommaluang Choomporn garden, moo 2, Sattahip.

The man’s crazy behavior was causing traffic jams, and people were afraid he would be hit by a car and killed on the road. Still, no authorities or officers came to take care of the disturbed man. The person who notified the journalist wanted the crazy man’s relatives to know the danger he was in.

The journalist went to check, and saw the crazy Thai man on the road. He appeared to be in his mid-thirties, short and skinny, with dark skin and short hair. He was shirtless, wearing only blue trousers. The man was running on the road and talking to himself. In his hand was a cup he carried all the time. He ignored all the cars on the road, and almost got hit many times.

His disturbing image repelled people, and his behavior was causing traffic jams. The journalist watched as the sick man headed toward Pattaya aimlessly on Sukhumvit Road, through Sattahip junction.

The journalist checked further, and discovered the mentally-ill man had a family in soi Khaopetch, moo 3, Sattahip. But because his family is poor, they let him to face his fate. But he doesn’t harm anyone, so the family wanted the authorities to know about him, and to take care of him.
