HIV Patients Given 7-days

A HIV care home which was ordered to move out of  Lang Nern community 6 months ago has now reached its deadline and has 7 days to move.

PATTAYA – June 12, 2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; Lang Nern community people found that the Glory Hut Foundation had still not moved as agreed so the local people had gathered outside the Glory Hut Foundation saying they need to go within 7 days.


Mrs. Pornsawan Krisphirak (Director of The Glory Hut Foundation) said that the foundation doesn’t want to make any trouble in the community. However,  the people of Lang Nern community were worried about the impact on the community by having HIV patients there. Mrs. Pornsawan said that they have a new location for the foundation which is located in Moo 14 Tambon Nong Prue, Amphur Banglamung. The municipality has given them 3 million THB for the foundation in order to buy the 2 rai of land.

She went on to say “I would like to tell the local people via the mass media that in the past we have never caused any trouble but have been expelled from our own land, do you think that is right or wrong? We have already moved all the HIV patients out of the  community but we still have to use this land for a juvenile office but will not bring the  HIV patients back. If the local people still resist, we will have to take action according to the legislative process.” said Mrs. Pornsawan.
