Hilton Pattaya’s General Manager, Philippe Kronberg recently participated in the 161-kilometer “2013 Ultra-Trail Mt. Fuji Race”, in Japan together with racers from Hilton Worldwide to raise funds for Room to Read projects in the developing world that focus on children’s literacy and gender equality in education.

The race also aims to communicate the importance of challenging the human spirit through the outdoor sports such as trail running, and to provide the opportunity for people to enjoy and discover the natural beauty and culture of the Mt. Fuji region.

Since 2011, Hilton Worldwide in Asia Pacific pledged its support as hotel industry partner of Room to Read – an entrepreneurial and global organization working in 10 countries across Asia and Africa, which seeks to transform the lives of millions of children in the developing world by focusing on literacy and gender equality in education. This partnership with Room to Read brings to life Hilton Worldwide’s corporate responsibility strategy, Travel with Purpose, by creating opportunities for young people through a holistic education and school library program.
