High-Low Gamblers ArrestedBanglamung police have arrested 14 high-low gamblers who were caught gambling behind a traffic police booth on the Sukhumvit Road Pattaya.
PATTAYA – June 17,2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 6.00 p.m., Pol.Lt.Col. Patcharaphon Juengtrakul (Deputy Superintendent of Banglamung police station, Chon Buri Province) mobilized forces of the Prevention and Suppression police team to raid a shack (shed) behind a traffic police booth on the Sukhumvit road central Pattaya after the police found out that there were people gambling there.
At the scene the police arrested 14 gamblers which consisted of 11 men and 3 women. One of them was identified as Mr. Chaichana Phonphian, aged 51, who was the gambling host. The police seized 2 sheets of high-low scores, 7 sets of 3 dice, 2 plates for the dice, 3 high-low glasses and 200 THB. The arrested were all taken to Banglamung police station.
Pol.Lt.Col. Patcharaphon revealed that the arrest was ordered by Pol.Col. Chonphat Nawalak (Superintendent of Banglamung police station) who reiterated to all police officers to crack down on every type of gambling until they found out that the game high-low as being played behind a traffic police booth. The police then made a plan to arrest the gamblers. They charged all defendants with the allegation of playing the gambling game high-low without permission. All the defendants were sent to the inquiry official for further prosecution according to the Thai law.
