High-low Gamblers Arrested In Pattaya

A group of gamblers have been arrested because they were making lots of noise playing high – low some neighbours called the police about the noise they were making who then caught them gambling.

PATTAYA – Novermber 6, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 5.00 a.m., Pol.Capt. Thanasit Kaenluem (Deputy Inspector of Pattaya city police station, Chonbuir province) was notified that there were some gamblers gambling at a house in Ha Phee Nong village, Soi 8 Pha Niat Chang, Moo 9, Tambon Nong Prue, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi province. They were making lots of noise that annoyed neighbours, so he rushed to inspect at scene together with a police team.

 

At the scene the police found gamblers who were playing high-low and making lots of noise. The police arrested 7 gamblers which consisted of 5 men and 2 women together with exhibits of high-low gambling equipment and an amount of cash. Mr. Damrong Phanomma, aged 52, was hosting the gambling.

Upon questioning the host he claimed that before incident occurred he had persuaded his friends to earn some money for Loy Krathong festival so they started to play high-low. They had been playing since the early evening until the early morning. He admitted that they had been making a lot of noise.

 

Initially, the police charged all gamblers with accusation of “Smuggling to gamble (high-low) without permission” then sent them together with exhibits to Pol.Maj.Gen. Chaliaw Boonkhum Inquiry official of Pattaya city police station to be prosecuted further according to the Thai law.
