Heavily Rained, Flood in Pattaya

Central Pattaya, South Pattaya road and Soi Bua Khao were submerged in flood. Water leaked through households, leveled at 1 meter. After the heavy rain, the traffic was chaos for couple of hours, while President of Pattaya on the way to inspect the area along with Pump vehicles to drain water out of those chaotic zones.

          13.30pm, 26 October 2005, reported that there a heavy rain showering all over in Pattaya and respected areas. Meteorological Department measured the level of precipitation to be at 41.0 mm. As it’s heavily raining, Central Pattaya, South Pattaya, Pattaya 3rd road, Sukhumvit Road and in Soi Bua Khao, including areas in Pattaya basin had been flooded with 50-100 cm height water which also leaked into households around the area.

           Despite the rain stopped, the level of the flood was not yet decreasing. The effect after the heavy rain is traffic chaos; Central Pattaya road especially had been in trouble for almost 2 hours due to none of the traffic police officers to facilitate in the areas, so Pattaya City had sent Municipal Officials for help instead.

           Later Mr. Nirant Wattanasartthorn, Mayor of Pattaya City said that this heavy rain was just a natural consequence of the ending monsoon. The flood caused by the upholding sea water was too high, so it is difficult for a flood to be released into the sea. Soon after with his team, he inspected the area flooded along with Pumping Vehicles to ease the situation.
