Head On Collision

A Burmese man who was riding his motorbike at high speed against the flow of traffic collided head on with a BMW car.

PATTAYA – July 27, 2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 4.30 a.m., Pol.Lt.Col. Aekkachai Moonlee (Inquiry official of Pattaya city police station, Amphur Banglamung, Chon Buri province) was notified that there was an accident involving a motorbike and a BMW severely injuring the rider. The accident occurred near Soi 9 behind Pattaya city police station.


At scene, the officers found a red BMW X1 car which had sustained a lot of damage to the front. Near the car was a yellow Honda MSX motorbike which was also damaged. The owner of the bike was identified as Mr. Sylon, aged 21, from Burma. He was severely injured so the rescue team performed first aid for him before sending him to Bang lamung hospital.


Upon questioning a motorbike taxi rider he told police that the BMW was driving along the road when the motorbike bike which was being driven at high speed against the flow of traffic crashed into it. Initially, Pol.Lt.Col. Aekkachai Moonlee took photos of the accident for evidence and the bike rider will be prosecuted according to the Thai law.
