Guard Shot Twice in the Knees

A guard who was asked to dismantle an illegal guard house outside a house was shot twice in the knees. The shooter fled the scene but finally handed himself in to police.

PATTAYA – 3 April 2014- 10.00 a.m. Pol.Col. Sutthisak Wanthee (Superintendent of Nong Prue police station) was informed that a man was shot and injured at 63/7 Pattaya Thanee Village, soi toongglomtarnmhun moo 9, Nongprue, Banglamung he was accompanied with Pol.Col.Katcha Thatsart and they went to investigate.

At the scene was a 2 floor luxury house where they found an injured 34 year old Suvit Dokkulab who had been shot twice in the knees sitting on the ground next to the guard house so they sent him to hospital.

The house is used as an office for a company that exports copper pipe. Upon questioning Mr.Hoyoung Jung- aged 57 the house owner said that he had contacted the village owner many times about the guard house but had no reply, then three guards from Pattaya City Condo Co,Ltd turned up who had been ordered to dismantle the guard house because it didn’t have permission. Mr.Hoyoung tried to explain that he had asked the village owner to set up a guardhouse for the last 3 months but had no reply. Mr Suvit a guard who had been ordered by the village owner to come and smash the glass in the guard house. Then Sergeant Pen(aged 40, unknown the real name ex-Navy sailor in Sattahip) who was hired as a guard decided to shoot Mr.Suvit in the knees and fled the scene.

Upon questiong, Mr.Pichit Aonsri-aged 38 one of a security guard of Pattaya Condo City- claimed that he and his men had been ordered by the court to dismantle this guardhouse because the house owner hadn’t dismantled it. While they were dismantling it a man (sergeant Pen) got a pistol from inside his Nissan Teana and shot Mr.Suvit twice and fled the scene.

Pol.Col.Katcha Thatsart was interviewed about the conflict between the resident and owner involved and to set up a guard house in front of his house was illegal. However, sergeant Pen decided to surrender to the police.
