PATTAYA – October 14, 2012 [Pattaya Daily News]: at 1 a.m., two Indian tourists came to the Muang Pattaya police station for assistance. They reported that a trio of ladyboys had snatched a gold necklace from one man’s neck and then fled on motorbikes.

The victim was identified as Mr. Agyat Gupta, age 43, nationality Indian. He testified that he and his friend were meandering aimlessly along Pattaya Beach road. Then three transgendered women riding on 2 motorcycles rode alongside and greeted them.

The ladyboys then offered them their prostitution services. So they parked their motorbikes and walked to the victims. The affectionate ladyboys caressed and hugged the men, and continued to asked them to buy their sexual services. Then one of them suddenly tore off a gold necklace from the neck of Mr .Agyat. He had just bought the 7-gram necklace for almost 100,000 baht.

The ladyboy who snatched the necklace then passed it to her friend as they ran to their motorcycles and rode away down Beach Road. The two Indians chased them and shouted at passerby to help them. But the men could not catch the fleeing trio of thieves, so they came to the police station to report the theft.

Police officers took the victim to check on some girls and trannies who had recently been arrested for prostitution in the Pattaya Beach area. But the victim said none of them were the ones who had robbed him.

Police believe the trio of thieving ladyboys are probably repeat offenders who likely had been arrested before for the same type of crime. These ladyboy thieves on motorbikes usually post bail after getting arrested, but then continue to repeat their snatch-and-run thefts from tourists while awaiting their court trial.

The police recorded the victim’s testimony for evidence and will follow up to investigate to track down the ladyboy criminals to prosecute according to the law.
