Government Bans Fishing

Some seafood vendors have been slightly affected by the new fishing rules bought in by the government which only allows fishing on certain days.

PATTAYA – Recently [PattayaDailyNews]; According to the case that the government had banned fishing in the Thai gulf on 1-3, 11-13 and 21-23 of each month. The rule was enforced on 1st September.

 

On September 2nd, reporters revealed that about 60 fishing boats had banned from fishing by the officials.

 

However, the seafood vendors in Talad Pho market in a Klua district had been slightly affected from the rule because the cost had increased to around 5-10 baht per kg. Upon questioning the vendors they said that they had to increase the price because the demand was high but the supply had decreased.

 

However, this was the first day of enforcing the rule so the effects yet taken affect.
