Sattahip, 12th March 2011 [Pattaya Daily News]: Police Colonel Chaosiri Boonsiriyonthin, Chief Police at Sattahip, Chonburi; Col. Police Arom Chanthana, a vice chief and the group of investigating police arrested boy “A” (anonymous name), aged 13 and boy “B”, 14 years old. These two were students of the famous Institute of Sattahip. They were suspected for stealing these motorcycles: a PD Honda Wave in gray and white color ( registered as งวร – 347, Chon Buri); a Honda Wave 100 Grey – Black (registered as งกน – 577, Chonburi) and a Yamaha Spark in Blue color (registered as ขนข – 26 Rayong).

The police made the arrest on March 10th, 2011 based on the testimony given by 32-year-old victim, Ms. Dawjai Dad-ngam. She reported of a stolen motorcycle, which was a white Honda Wave, registered as งวร – 347, Chonburi. The victim said that she parked her bike in front of Sumit dentist clinic (locates at Sri Prapat Market, Km 10, Tambon Plu Ta Luang,Sattahip). When the bike was missing, she requested to view all the CCTV surveillance cameras in front of the clinic. Based on recording images, Ms. Dawjai recognised the motorcycle thief as a resident in a nearby area. Hence the police tracked down the thief and charged him with possession of stolen property. The police also found two other stolen vehicles. The thieves planned to sell them to the market, in particular to teenagers in the area.

The two thieves confessed that they have been stealing motorcycles and ride them with their friends along the street. Besides these bikes, they also admitted to other crimes. On March 6, 2011 they stole 2 motorcycles at Sri Prat market and within 10 km distance from the market, they stole 2 cars and a Honda Wave 100 in Black – Grey colour (registerจกน – 577 ,Chonburi). On 9th March 2011, at 22:00 they stole a blue Yamaha Spark, registered as ขนข – 26, Rayong, in front of an Internet store. This motorcycle was later sold to a group of gangster at 2,500 – 3,000 Baht each. The students used the money to play games online. Police took the thieves along with the stolen properties to Col. Police Sapol Somnuk, Police Station officers, Plu Ta Luang.

35-year-old Mrs. “Small”, the mother of boy “A”, told the police that she is very upset about the incident. She does not think that her son would commit such crime because he is a scholarship student of his school with good behaviours. Mrs. “Small” regrets allowing her son to play online games in which he is peer-pressured to steal motorcycles. The mother fears for her son’s future prospect considering that he is already stealing for money at such a young age.
