CHONBURI – February 27, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 4.00 a.m. Pol.Lt.Col. Khongsak Boonsuesuwan (Deputy Superintendent of Nong Prue police station, Chonburi province) together with the police team went to inspect the Siam Country Club Pattaya Waterside golf course, Moo 9 Tambon Pong, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi province, after they were notified that 6 men who wore balaclavas attacked to take charge of the security guards then tied their hands and robbed many items of hand tools and construction equipment before fleeing the scene.

At the incident was a big golf course that is under construction which affiliates to Siam Country Club then the officers found that many items of hand tools and construction equipment in the 2 containers of SMC (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (the construction company that is constructing such golf course) were missing, which are worth over 100,000 THB. There were 2 security guards of Chubb Co., Ltd. named Mr. Jate Joothakarn, aged 55 and Mr. Boontharm Kringjan, aged 48 (the eyewitnesses), were standing waiting for police.

Upon questioning the 2 security guards, the police perceived that while they were on their duty a black pick-up truck with no number plates drove onto the golf course then 6 males got out of the pick-up armed with swords and over powered the 2 security guards. They then used the plastic rope to tie their hands to a tree . Once they were tied up they stole lots of tools and equipment before fleeing the scene. After that Mr. Jate (the security guard) managed to untie his hands and then helped Mr. Boontharm before calling the police.

Pol.Lt.Col. Khongsak revealed that the thieves had planned their attack late at night because there were only 2 security guards on duty for a big golf course. He also believes that they might be ex-construction worker that were fired or it might have insiders working there who know about the daily routines. However, the police will investigate the incident further and will follow up to find clues of the 6 thieves in order to arrest them and prosecute them further.
