Mrs. Yupapin Bua-Kiew aka Dang, (34) from Chaiyapoom employed as a cook at a South Pattaya hotel, explained to police that her daughter Au (15) had been raped by an American named Luis (35) who was staying in room 210 on the second floor of the Marine Place Hotel in Moo. 10 South Pattaya. She said he had already checked out of his room.

On questioning the victim, Miss Au, she explained that she was working as a waitress at the deck chair concession along Pattaya beach opposite the Royal Garden Plaza.

At 8.00pm., on 21 October, whilst talking with her aunt, the owner of the deck chairs, Mr. Luis approached her and started to chat with her and her sister (12) for about an hour. He then asked her and her sister if they wanted to go with him to watch a movie at the Royal Garden Plaza. Her aunt gave her permission and they both left with Mr. Luis.

After the movie, Mr. Luis asked her to come and visit him at his hotel room. As her sister was tired Mr. Luis said they should drop her sister off at their place first after which Miss Au accompanied him to his room alone. Once in his room Mr. Luis gave her a glass of water. Shortly afterwards she felt dizzy and fell unconscious.

She woke up again at 10.00 am. the next day [22 October] to find her private parts were bleeding. A tearful Miss Au told the police that when she asked him if he had raped her Mr. Luis confessed and promised to marry her. She went home to tell her mother who had been worrying about her disappearance the night before. They rushed back to the hotel only to find that Mr. Luis had checked out already.

Police interviewed everyone involved and registered the report before sending Miss Au to the hospital for a physical examination. They are now searching for Mr. Luis and hope to bring him to justice soon.
