Pattaya, 17th March 2011 [Pattaya Daily News]: At 4 p.m., Police Sub-Lieutenant, Panlop Ringrod, Assistant Suppressing Officer of Pattaya Department was informed that a male foreigner shot and killed a dog. This incident took place at No. 407/387, Kehaprasit Village,Thepprasit Rd, Moo.12, Nongprue, Banglamung, Chonburi. The police hurried to the scene.

The police found a 1-year-old male Miniature Pinscher (small dog breed originating from Germany) named Dimond, shot on the right side of his body, lying dead on the road. The dog owner, Mrs. Pensri Huadsang, aged 54, and her daughter were mourning nearby.

The owner told the police that her dog was playing outside her house as usual, when suddenly she heard a gunshot. She hurried to the scene and found that Mr. Klaus Luckey, her 73-year-old German next-door neighbour, had shot her dog, as witnessed by surrounding people. Everybody, including the owner, was berating the German man for killing the innocent dog – a man’s best friend. The owner also said that the German man used to poison her dog and the neighbours’ but nobody had pressed charges before.

Subsequently, the police arrested the shooter and seized his loaded rifle as evidence. Despite being arrested, the suspect showed no remorse for his action. He admitted that he shot the dog because he was furious with the dog for always peeing on his tires.

At the Police Department, the German tried to apologize to the owner, but she berated him and planned to take legal actions against him as far as possible. He was charged with unregistered possession of gun, shooting in public without permission, and destroying other people’s properties.
