Bangkok, the 12th of May 2010 [Pattaya Daily News]: Thai Immigration officials revealed recently that they had successfully apprehended international fugitive Mr. Michael Pollmeier [46], a German national. The investigation came to an end when cooperation between German police and Thai Immigration officers revealed that Mr. Pollmeier was hiding at the Fisherman Way Villas on the tourist resort island of Phuket.

Mr. Pollimier was allegedly the owner of a successful solar-cell-panel business in Germany which embezzled over Bt65 million (1.5 million Euros) from its customers. Allegedly the business supplied numerous customers with poor quality or non-functioning solar cell units before fleeing once payment for the systems had been made. Mr. Pollimier along with four accomplices fled with the money in 2009. The location of the other four suspects involved in the case has not been reported, however Mr. Pollimier had allegedly entered the Kingdom of Thailand in mid-2009.

At present Mr. Pollmeier will remain in police custody whilst awaiting his deportation to Germany, where he will then face a host of criminal charges along with multiple civil suits from aggrieved customers in the scam.
