Gambling Den Busted by Police on Pattaya 3rd Road

Pattaya police have busted a gambling den on Pattaya 3rd road, there were over 50 occupants inside but the police only managed to arrest 6 after they fled the scene. Also 10 cars and trucks outside the den were seized by police.

PATTAYA – April 3, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 12.30 p.m.; Pol.Col. Supphachai Phuikaewkham (Superintendent of Pattaya city police station, Chonburi Province), Pol.Lt.Col. Chitdecha Songhong (Deputy Superintendent of Chonburi Provincial Police Station), Pol.Maj. Chusak Pinrat (Inspector of Pattaya city police station) together with forces of detective police team brought a writ to search in the Click Up Pub & Restaurant that was located in Soi Jeeraphon, Pattaya third road, Moo 9 Tambon Nong Prue, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi Province, after they were informed that the pub was opened after hours and it also allowed teenagers to assemble to consume drugs.

Upon inspecting the car park there were many cars and motorbikes so police blocked it off but when the occupants of around 50 people saw the police they fled the scene causing the glass door to shatter. Only 6 people were arrested due to there being a small number of officers.

From searching inside the pub the police found that it was modified gambling den for playing high-low and there was 1 big table and gambling equipment, many chips and name cards with the letters “Tiger” that were used instead of cash for 200 THB. Moreover, the police also searched the body of Mr. Thossaphon Cheuysoonthorn, aged 21, and found 1 gun size .38 mm. 1 gun size 9 mm hidden in the ceiling and 9 bottles of ketamine in the handbag under the DJ’s stand therefore the officers seized all of them for evidence.

After initial investigation then the police detained all defendants to be prosecuted at Pattaya city police station but the pub owner had escaped which the officers will follow up to investigate him further. The officers also seized almost 10 cars and pick-up trucks of the defendants that fled the scene to be inspected further.
