Foreigner Gets Stuck On Pattaya Cliff

A foreign who decided to climb a cliff on Koh Larn Island got half way up and became stuck. He had to be rescued by helicopter after being stuck for 3 hours.

PATTAYA – December 9,2014 [Pattaya Daily News] at 17.00 pm Pol.Col.Suppatee Boonkrong-acting superintendent of Pattaya police station- was notified that a foreigner was stuck on a cliff in Samae beach, Koh Lan Island. After notification the police officers and Sawang Borriboon rescue team rushed to the scene.

At the scene was a 90 degree cliff about 300 meters high where the officials found a Mr Bouras Thedoras aged 37 stuck on the cliff. The officers planned to help him but they had no expert climber and equipment so they had to use a helicopter to rescue him.

 

After the helicopter rescued him he was taken to U-Tapao airport before sending him to Bangkok-Pattaya hospital. The initial diagnosis was exhaustion.

Mr.Bouras revealed that he was a mountain climber and he had climbed many cliffs in Thailand. He came to Pattaya and wanted to climb the cliff. Later he decided to climb the cliff but when he got half way it became soft so he couldn’t go any higher and got stuck. He had to wait for 3 hours to be rescued and shouted for help from fishing boats.
