PATTAYA – March 16, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 12.10 a.m.; Pol.Lt. Sanan Khotanon (Investigation officer of Pattaya city police station, Chonburi Province) was notified that a foreign man’s corpse had been found, floating in the sea at the curve of the beach at Dusit hotel, north Pattaya road, Moo 6 Tambon Na Kluea, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi Province. He rushed to the scene together with the rescuers of Sawang Boriboon Tharmma Satharn Foundation, Pattaya city.

The deceased appeared to be of Oriental race, but not Thai. He was dressed in grey cropped pants and a long sleeved orange T-shirt. There were no signs of foul play, and the police estimated the corpse was about 2 hours old at that point. They found nothing to identify the man, other than a Nokia mobile phone and one of his shoes, found on the buoyancy wall, which were retained as evidence.

The body was discovered by Miss Siwaporn On-choom, aged 32, a resident of Phetchabun. She had come to Pattaya on her honeymoon with her husband and a friend. They had been relaxing on the beach, and then took a stroll along the buoys when they noticed the corpse floating in the water. The husband called the police immediately.

Whilst the police seem confident that the man had drunkenly slipped and drowned, they will send the body for an autopsy at the Institute of Forensic Medicine of Police General Hospital for verification.
