FOREIGN TOURIST DROWNED AT LAEM WARN CAPE, KOH LARN

A Japanese tourist had a cramp in the sea and was drowned at Koh Larn (Coral Island), Pattaya, around Laem Warn cape. Sea rescue was immediately notified but could not safe his life.

On 11 December 2007, at 01.30PM, Pol.Lt.Col.Pallop Gangtharathip, Pattaya investigator, Chonburi, was notified that a Japanese tourist was drowned and dead. The deceased body was transferred to Bali Hai pier. Police officers along with Sawang Boriboon rushed to investigate.
Arriving at the Bali Hai pier, Officials found a dead Japanese tourist, Mr. Fujita Toru (56), Japanese national. He was clad in blue shorts with no shirt. His body was pale and there was no sign of being attacked.

Mr. Kongphol Nenjinda, (50), a tour guide of Siam Express Company, told that, Mr. Toru had checked in at Montien hotel on 8 December 2007. In the morning, he had taken six tourists to go to Laem Warn, on Koh Larn (Coral Island). Mr. Toru and his friend went into the sea for swimming. Suddenly, Mr. Toru had disappeared in front of his friend and other tourists. Assumingly, he had a cramp and was drowned. The Sea rescue was immediately notified, but unfortunately, Mr. Toru did not survive and had passed away.
