Foreign Man Eats Noodle Dead in Pattaya

A foreign man was dead as he was eating noodle. Police expected that he might be dead because of suffocation.

PATTAYA – March 1,2016 [PattayaDailyNews]; at 16.00 pm Pol.Lt.Niwat Pengkaen- deputy inspector of Pattaya police station- was notified that a foreigner was dead as he was eating chicken noodle. After notification the police officers and the rescue team immediately rushed to inspect the scene.


At the scene the officers found the body of Mr.Meier Ernst Albert aged 58 who was retired policeman from Switzerland in front of a guesthouse. Upon inspection the police officers didn’t find any trace of foul play; however, the officers found a small piece of noodle in his trachea. It’s expected that he had been dead around an hour.


Upon questioning Ms.Janjira Sukprueng aged 32 who is his girlfriend she told the officers that Mr.Meier had just been in Thailand for a month. She and her boyfriend were eating the noodle then he Mr.Meier suffocated and fell unconscious.

She tried to help him by laying him on the ground and she found lots of noodle in his throat and mouth before she decided to notify Pattaya Memorial hospital. Unfortunately, he already passed away.


The police officers expected that he might be dead due to suffocation or his congenital deceased. However, his body would be sent to forensic office of Police hospital in order to investigate to real cause of death.
