PATTAYA – July 14, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News];- at 15.00 pm at Pattaya police station journalists of Pattaya Daily News had reported the statistics of football gambling in Pattaya after world cup had finished. According to the statistics football gambling hadn’t been as popular in Pattaya like previous years. During world cup (12 June-13 July) the police officers had arrested 65 gamblers and 1 messenger with 60 football gambling cards and 118,420 baht of gambling money. Surprisingly there was no gambling in Pattaya during the semi-final and final round of the world cup.

Pol.Col.Suppatee Boonkrong-deputy commander of Chonburi and acting superintendent of Pattaya police station- revealed that the statistics indicated that the amount of gambling in Pattaya had decreased from previous years. It’s expected that the gambling hosts realised that the officers were going to clamp down on gambling, especially football gambling. However the police had inspected 3-4 hosts who were on a blacklist but they didn’t find any wrongdoings. He added that if anybody sees any gambling, slot machines or casinos they should notify the police.
