Floating Bulletproof Vest Innovated By Navy

The Naval Military Police have created a new “Floating bulletproof vest” its been designed so that it can with stand any size pistol which is shot at it and also gives off an emergency SOS signal if the wearer gets into difficulty.

The Naval Military Police have innovated a new bulletproof vest which can support 150 kilograms and it can float on the water. Plus it doesn’t need high technology to produce because it’s made from simple materials. The vest was created for naval operations. CAPT.Wirat Somjit-director of The Naval Military police-, CAPT.Cholpu Choosi, CDR.Napipat Rattanapitak and 1 PO.Rakkiet Siboonchoo had designed this new innovation. They had made a prototype from simple and cheap materials. The vest can protect the wearer from any pistol, plus it can float on water. The floating system can be adjusted automatic and manually.

CAPT.Wirat said that the military were importing vests from foreign countries but they couldn’t float on water. Therefore they decided to try and produce a new type of vest, so they designed a new one which they put rubber inside so it can float and also installed a signal light which in an emergency will send an SOS message.

 

He added that the bulletproof vest had been certificated by The Naval Ordnance Department that it can protect the wearer from any pistol. Plus It had been certificated by the CE ISO.

ADMF.Narong Pipatnasai-commander of the Royal Thai Navy and deputy chief of the NCPO- said that Royal Thai Navy had a policy to support the naval officers in creating new innovations. The bulletproof vest was an outstanding innovation. In addition the innovators had produced the vest according to the philosophy of the Sufficiency Economy because they used simple, cheap materials to produce it.
