
Flash Flood Destroys Bridge In Prachinburi
A flash flood gushed out the Dong Phayayen mountain range, the flood was so strong that it destroyed a bridge.PRACHINBURI – June 16, 2013 [Pattaya Daily News]; After hours of heavy rain in central Thailand, a flash flood formed from Khao Yai national park. The flood went from canal to canal, it flooded many areas, including Prachinburi. A bridge in the Prachinburi river was destroyed after it couldn’t take heavy force of the flood. Luckily, the bridge collapsed in the night time when nobody was using it.
Mr. Apichart Saengkeaw, a construction worker of the bridge who was residing near the bridge said that in the middle of the night when it was raining heavily, he heard a loud noises of wood breaking that was used to hold the bridge. The bridge was already ordered to be closed on June 15 as it was feared to collapse.
The mayor of Prachinburi province stated that the bridge was in the responsibility of the contractor. The contractor will now be questioned by the provincial organization.
