Fishing Boat Inspected By NavyOfficers have inspected a fishing boat after they were notified that the Burmese crew were forced to work on the boat.
PATTAYA – April 30,2015 [PattayaDailyNews]; V.Adm.Sucheep Wangmaitree-commander of the Royal Thai Navy- was notified by the department of social development and human security to track a fishing boat after Ms.Dao aged 32 from Burma notified the officers that Mr.Ray aged 30 who was her boyfriend had been offered illegal work on the fishing boat.
On the 30th April, the officers spotted the fishing boat between Ko Lan island and Ko Pai island 10 kms off the coast of Pattaya beach; therefore, the officers searched the boat and found 10 crew members which consisted of 1 Thai and 9 Burmese. The officers led the fishing boat to Bali Hai pier before taking the crew to Pattaya police station in order to inspect them.
Mr.Piboon who is the captain said that he and his Burmese friends set sail for 4 days ago and he had asked Mr.ray if he wanted to work on the boat to which he agreed. He was given 15,000 baht in advance and he also gave Ms.Dao 10,000 baht.
Lt.Chedsada Tarnlak said that the officers initially inspected them and sent the captain and Mr.Ray to Pattaya police in order to investigate the truth.
