FISHERMAN VIOLATES FISHERY LAW AND TWELVE ILLEGAL WORKERS ARRESTED

Navy shore protection officers arrested a fisherman with 12 illegal foreign workers, during catching fish with a trawl in prohibited season. He was charged for Violation to the rules of Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Using trawl net smaller than 2.5 cm, Fishing in prohibited season and Using illegal foreign workers.

Captain Arthorn Klueb-mas, Shore protection Navy Chief of Staff, Plutalueng, Sattahip, Chonburi, reported to Rear Admiral Worasak Jan-nu, Shore protection Navy Commissioner that there was a blue and white fishing boat, “So Petcharuen”, had used a trawl for fishing around Hard Sai Gaew.

Rear Admiral Worasak directed Lieutenant Junior Grade, Grit Rakchart with T. 211 boat and Lieutenant Junior Grade, Jakree Boonsongchan with T. 24 boat leaving from Laem Tien pier to go to investigate. Arriving at the scene, T. 211 boat investigated a fishing boat “Sab Prasert” but did not find them guilty. Officers had warned them that it is the prohibited season for fishing. T.24 boat managed to arrest a fishing boat “So Petcharuen” at Gled Gaew gulf during trawling. The boat controller was Mr. Heng Homhuen (40), living at 77/89, Moo 1, Bang Saray, Sattahip, together with twelve illegal foreign workers, all were arrested.

Rear Admiral Worasak declared that it is a prohibited season for fishing. The authority has announced that it is the laying egg season for sea fish along the coral line. Navy authority charged the fisherman for Violation to the rules of Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Using trawl net smaller than 2.5 cms, Fishing in prohibited season and Using illegal workers. Navy officials had recorded the arrest and sent them to Sattahip for further investigation.
