Fire Destroys  Five Old  Wooden Shop Houses In Sattahip

A fire destroyed  five old wooden houses at night smack in the middle of Baan Chong Samaesarn community market. Hundreds of locals escaped the fire. Total  damages estimated to more than 5 million THB. Police assumes  the fire was caused by electrical short circuit.

Sattahip, December 21, 2011[Pattaya Daily News]; Pol. Capt. Aekkachai Mullee, Sattahip  police station, Chonburi province was notified at 04:30 hrs that a fire had destroyed many houses in Baan Chong Samaesarn market community near the beach road, Moo 1 Tambon Samaesarn, Sattahip, Chonburi province.

The police coordinated with Mr. Prasert Pitakkorn, the Lord Mayor of Subdistrict Administrative Organisation Tambon Samaesarn for the fire truck support, totally four fire trucks. Two from  Samaesarn Subdistrict Administrative Organization  and  two fire trucks from Sub district Administrative Organization Plutaluang.

 

The fire had started  in the watch repair shop address 95/60 belonging to Mr. Yuthana Passornsirikul age 54 and spread to another  four houses, which were connected. Ms. Rojjana Kaewkuan age 40, a two room grocery store, the house of Mr. Khemchart Bumrungpipattanaporn age 34, and the restaurant of Ms. Saengdao Chartmontri age 30.

All owners of the destroyed houses  escaped unscathed and no one in the community was injured. The fire fighters needed more than  one hour to control the fire. Upon primary inspection the officers found  two motorbikes and a lot of property totally destroyed. The value of the damaged property is estimated to more than 5 million THB.

 
Mr. Yuthana, the owner of watch repair shop said that while he was sleeping suddenly he noticed there was smoke in his house and he saw the fire burning in front of  his shop. He escaped  through the back door and shouted to his neighbor to wake up and run. Mr. Yuthana  didn’t know the exact cause of the  fire.

Pol. Capt. Aekkachai Mullee, in charge of this case, said he assumed that the cause might be from an electrical short circuit due old wires and the houses which were built of wood. Everything burnt down within twenty minutes. The police brought Mr. Yuthana for interrogation in order to obtain more information for the investigation which will be coordinated with the forensic science service officer to find  the  real cause of this fire.
