Female Undercover Agent Stings Sattahip Meth Dealers

Two career drug dealers were arrested in a police sting operation in Sattahip. A female undercover agent helped trap the two men. The two suspects said they did it for money to buy meth to consume. Neither has had any other job besides selling drugs.

SATTAHIP – September 18, 2012 [Pattaya Daily News]: at 4 a.m., the arrests of two long-time drug dealers was made by Mr. Phawat Lertmukda, Sattahip sheriff, Chonburi; and Mr.Chawat Teptap, the security division sheriff; and special troops from the National Command Center for Drugs (NCCD).

The suspects were arrested in room number 26 of the Plutaluang Hotel, Moo 1 Plu Ta Luang, Sattahip, Chonburi.

The suspects were identified as Mr. Sittichai Khaonim or Joe, age 27, living at house number 4/10, moo 2, Samaesan ,Sattahip, Chonburi; and Mr. Mana Kasemsunthorn, age 37, living at No. 8/45 Moo 4, Tambon Sattahip, Chonburi Samaesan.

They are charged with possession of a Type-1 drug (crystal meth) for sale and distribution. Police seized the evidence of a 0.96 g bag of ice, and 3,000 in baht bank notes used to purchase the drugs, and a motorcycle.

 

With the addition of a female drug agent, police infiltrated a network of the two drug dealers in Samaesan. The police set up a sting to lure the drug dealers. An arrangement was made to deliver the drugs to the Plutaluang hotel room. After the transaction was completed, the authorities showed themselves and arrested the two suspects.

The suspects were interrogated by police seeking to expand the case to find other drug dealers and suppliers. The suspects were then sent to the Plu Ta Luang detective for legal proceedings.

Sattahip sheriff Mr. Phawat Lertmukda said the two suspects are part of a dealer network run by “Mr. Jay,” a drug dealer in soi Khaomorn who escaped arrest.

Mr. Mana is the leader of the two captured suspects. They had been selling drugs together for a long time for money to buy meth for themselves. They have never held any jobs, and instead just sold drugs, never providing any benefit to society.
