SATTAHIP-August 16, 2012[Pattaya Daily News]; At 12:15 a.m., the rescue officer of the Sawangrojjanathammasathan Sattahip foundation was notified that a man was bitten by his dog and severely injured.

He rushed to assist with first aid equipment and a rescue car to the house at 57/199 Ramnooch village, Soi Bonkai, Moo 6 Tambon Sattahip, Amphur Sattahip, Chonburi province.

The incident occurred in a detached 1-story house blockaded by a fence. At the front door, the rescue officer saw a lot of bloodstains. The owner of the house, Mr. Prayoon Khampul, 59, was sitting on the floor with three bite wounds on his right foot.

Nearby was his dog, a black Rottweiler-Pit Bull mix breed. The 2-year-old dog, named “Mee,” was tethered with chains to a concrete pole. The dog also had injuries on its neck and left ear, after its owner fought off the attack with a stick.

The rescue officer performed first aid on Mr. Prayoon before sending him to the emergency room of Queen Sirikit hospital. For the dog that was still tethered, no one dared to come close to it.

Mr. Prayoon, who works at a key shop in Sattahip market, said that Mee is a mixed breed dog that his relatives had asked him to care for after it was born.

But he said that the dog is so fierce he has to tether it with chains all the time. He can never release it to go outside the house for fear that it will bite other people.

Mr. Prayoon said his dog has previously bitten him three times in the past. But he still loved his dog, so he didn’t give Mee to other organizations, and kept feeding his dog in the house as usual.

In the latest dog-bite attack, Mr. Prayoon said he had finished watching TV, and was playing with his dog. But suddenly Mee got moody and bit him in his right leg. The dog did not release its jaws clamped on his leg, so Mr. Prayoon used a wooden stick to hit the dog several times before it released him.

Mr. Prayoon said he feels so sad and was angry that he had fed his dog so well, but it bit him again. Since this is the fourth time his dog bit him, he cannot forgive the ungrateful animal.

He announced that if any organization would like to pick up his dog to feed or kill it, he is willing to give it away, because if he keeps feeding his dog, it may bite his family members and kill them.
