The pair had not been seen since Mr. Phongphan took the fishing net out along with the youngest daughter to the Bang Saray reservoir to catch fish for their family on 14th April.

The Commander ordered Captain Somjit to take a team out in search of the pair amongst the bush land and around the reservoir. During the search, a pink shirt, sandals and a net for keeping the fish were found on the waters edge showing the point of their last moments.

It was here the officers searched the water only to find the deceased bodies of the unfortunate father still clutching his young daughter approximately 30 meters from the edge. It appeared the father got caught up in the net as it was found wrapped around his leg. Mrs. Phongphon and her remaining daughter broke down in despair, leaving the officers feeling for their loss.

Captain Suphakorn stated that it appeared the father had got caught up in fishing net when his daughter jumped into the water in order to help him without success leaving the two of them supporting each other till the end.

In cooperated with the Sattahip Police investigation team, Captain Suphakorn related his findings and after examination found no signs of foul play. The family believed the death was an unfortunate accident that happened due to the time of the incident when there was no one around to call for help.
