Farmer Complain About Government Long Term Debt

Representatives from the union of Thai farmers have complained to the Thai prime minister about the debt that they are owed from Rayong City Hall.

RAYONG- December 25, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at Rayong City Hall representatives from the union of Thai farmers of Rayong which was lead by Mr.Boonsom Samred aged 67 announced a complaint via Mr.Thani Samartkit-governor of Rayong- to Gen.Prayuth Chano-Cha-prime minister of Thailand- to sort out the farmers debt problem.

 

Mr.Boonsom said that the debt was not their fault and the was the fault of the agricultural policy which was set by the government. In addition the policy which was set by the government wasn’t working and the problem had been going on for a long time. On behalf of the Thai farmers union the government had set up a group to solve the problem directly.

 

In addition the government had tried to solve the debt problem but their attempts hadn’t succeeded and had cost around 300,000 million baht.

 

Initially the officers received the complaints which were reported to Gen.Prayuth Chano-cha which satisfied the farmers before they went back to work.
