Pattaya, the 8th of January 2010 [Pattaya Daily News]: Apolinario Cruz is well known around the world for his artistic talents, so it is little wonder that the opening of his Pattaya exhibition drew a record attendance. Not only did a large crowd of art lovers from Pattaya attend, but also quite a few patrons of Liam’s fine art galleries attended from Bangkok, with Liam’s food & wine being greatly appreciated by everyone.

Regarding his exhibition at the Liam’s Art Gallery in Pattaya, Apolinario states, – “The markings I make on the surface of the canvas are only the beginning of the clue and a visual guide to the intellectual reaction the viewer will have towards my work. In this collection of paintings, I included some pieces which I painted in the last five years in order to give the viewers a historical glimpse of my work.”

This famous artist was born in the province of Bulacan, in the Philippines on the 19th July 1960, and he travelled around South East Asia then eventually settled in Australia in 1980. Largely self taught, he also attended the University of the Philippines, the San Francisco Art Institute and the Ceramic Centre at Orange TAFE, NSW, Australia. He is presently a part-time teacher at TAFE in NSW Australia, and holds classes and workshops at primary and high school levels in both public and private schools across the state.

Apolinario Cruz works in a variety of mediums including canvas, paints, paper, clay, and also uses recycled objects. He has exhibited widely in both public and private galleries throughout Australia, France, United States and Asia.
