Fake Policeman Tricks Van Driver

A Van driver has been tricked by a man who pretended to be a police officer. He asked to borrow some money to buy a gift but never came back.

PATTAYA – August 30,2015 [PattayaDailyNews]; at 23.30 pm Mr.Wittawas Charunpong aged 36 a van driver notified Pol.Lt.Puttipong Chuenchom- inspector of Pattaya police station- that he had been tricked by a man pretending to be a police officer.

Mr Wittawas said that he had been hired by the fake police officer who told him that his name was Capt Don. He then asked him to pick him up at Pattaya police station and to take him to Bangkok for 3,500 baht. On the way to Bangkok he asked the driver to stop at Big C so and could he borrow 5,800 THB to buy a basket gift for his friend. Mr Wittawas then agreed and gave him the money and the man went inside. He waited for a long time but the man never came back and he realised he had been tricked so he notified the police.
