Fake Pattaya Volunteer Police Arrested

Carrefour security guards dressed up as volunteer police and well equipped with radios- handcuffs, arrested. The wrongdoers confessed that they did it to showoff to beach girls.

At 00.10, on September 14th, 2008, Police officer Songtham Naksawas, chief of Pattaya volunteer police, with volunteer police team, found 3 teenagers who dressed up as volunteer police, talking to a girl suspiciously on Pattaya beach. Police then identified themselves to check the three suspects for illegal items.

Police discovered that Mr. Arthit Thongmak (24) and Mr. Jongrak Ta-bia (18) who were wearing caps with police logo on, carrying 2 handcuffs, 2 radios communication, 3 clubs. They were also wearing popular black jackets with “Police” embroidered on the back. The third man in the group was Mr. Jirayu Prakorbkarn (27), which police found no illegal things but they were all detained .

The three men confessed that they are security guards of Carrefour store, Central Pattaya. Mr. Sakda, their friend, who is a volunteer police, had persuaded them to be volunteer police, but they have not applied to join the club yet.

Everyday after work, they dressed up as private police, equipped with tools that they had bought themselves, went out with their friend who is a volunteer police, to raid on prostitution on Pattaya beach.

But today, they had gone out on their own to show off to beach girls and were arrested.

Police officer Songtham explained that, there were teenagers had disguised to be volunteer police to take advantages of tourists and it has drawn a bad images to Pattaya volunteer police. Initially, police had pressed charge Mr. Arthit and Mr. Jongrak for possessing the radios communication without permission. Police also had Mr.Jirayu to make a record and released him.
