Exchange Robbery Gang ArrestedPattay police have made a statement about the arrest of a gang ho robbed an exchange shop owner of 600,000 baht.
PATTAYA – Recently According to the case that Mr Sitthichok Charoenpipatsin aged 57 who is a money exchange shop owner who was attacked and robbed of 600,000baht.Pol.Col.Suktad Pupanmuang- superintendent of Pattaya police station- had ordered an investigation into the crime.
On the 5th August the police officers made a statement about the arrest of Mr Ratchapol Yakanta aged 43 who was the gang leader, Mr Nattapong Saowakul aged 20, Mr Narubet Thanomsuk aged 22, Mr Surasit Klubkhan aged 22, Mr Pongsakorn Pothong aged 22 and Mr Chutipas Thipprasert aged 19. They were arrested with 90,000 baht, a gold bracelet, a gold necklace, 2 motorcycles and a truck.
The police then took the suspects to re-enact the crime.
The police officers found out that Mr Ratchapol had observed the victim for a long time and he noticed that he always exchanged money where there were many foreigners. Later he planned to rob the man with his gang.
On the incident day Mr Sitthichok was on his way back home when Mr Surrasit and Mr Chutipas knocked him to the ground then Mr Pongsakorn cut the bag open and took 600,000 baht and ornaments before they all fled the scene.
Also reporters revealed that Mr Sitthichok had committed the same type of crime 2 years ago and he stole 1 million baht. However, the police prosecuted all the offenders according to the Thai law.
