Ex-Soldier Found Dead in The Sea off Pattaya

The body of an ex-soldier was spotted floating in the sea off the coast of Pattaya. His body was picked up by the marine rescue team and taken to Bali Hai peir.

PATTAYA – July 9, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News];- at 09.00 am. Pol.Lt.Col.Songkram Pun-aium-investigation inspector of Pattaya police station- was notified that there was a body floating about 200 meters from Pattaya beach. After notification the police officers, marine officers and the Sawang Borriboon Thamma Satharn rescue team rushed to the scene.

 

Upon arriving at the scene the officers found a male body identified as a Mr Chalerm Pakmat aged 30 from Mahasarakham province who was semi naked wearing only a pair of jeans and there was no signs of foul play. It’s expected that he had been dead for around 2-3 hours. Also the officers found a wallet which contained a soldiers ID card (expired) and some other documents. In addition the officers found the dead man’s shoes and shirt at the beginning of Walking Street, South Pattaya.

 

The police believe that Mr Chalerm may have been drunk before he went swimming off the old quay in South Pattaya or he might have committed suicide. However the officers sent his body to Bang Lamung hospital for an autopsy to find the real cause of death.
