Ex-Prisoner Caught Red-Handed For Burglary In Pattaya

An ex-prisoner who was caught stealing from a hotel room while the occupants were sleeping was chased and caught by a bystander.

PATTAYA – February 12,2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 4.30 a.m., Pol.Lt. Jakkrit Jantakham (Inquiry official of Pattaya city police station, Chon Buri province) was notified that a bystander had chased after a burglar and caught him with stolen in front of Teng Nueng Mobile Phone Shop in Soi Bua Khao, Moo 9 Tambon Nong Prue, Amphur Banglamung, Chon Buri province, so he rushed to inspect at scene.

At the incident point the officers found Mr. Duangden Saengtawan, aged 43, who had apprehended the burglar who was identified as Mr. Somnuek Phosawat, aged 46, Phra Nakhon from Si Ayutthaya. He was unconscious on the road and his head was bleeding.

 

Upon questioning Miss Chanida she told the police that while she was sleeping in room no. 102, 2nd floor of the Chokdee Inn hotel she heard a noise as if someone had entered into her room and was searching her through her belongings so she woke up and found Mr. Somnuek (the burglar) in her room so she screamed for assistance and he fled. Miss Chanida then ran after him shouting for people to stop him, then Mr. Duangden tried to stop Mr Somnuek ( burglar) who then pulled out a knife and tried to stab Mr. Duangden so Mr. Duangden fought back and restrained him with the stolen items.

Pol.Lt. Jakkrit revealed that from checking the criminal history of Mr. Somnuek (the burglar) the police found out that he had been in prison for bag snatching and had just been released.He was then sent to the police station to be prosecuted.
