Escaped Prisoner From Pattaya’s Prison Arrested

A Chonburi man who broke out of prison and hid in Laos for a year has been arrested. He was deported back to Thailand and was arrested by the Thai police on the friendship bridge.

PATTAYA – May 22, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News];-at 03.00 am. Pol.Lt.Col.Suppachok Panitchayapong was accompanied with investigation inspectors of Pattaya police station which lead a team by Pol.Capt.Chatree Thepburi to arrest Mr.Chaiporn (Samrit) Thaicharoen aged 39 who had escaped from the prison.
 
The police had been notified by the Royal Thai Consulate-General, Savannakhet that they would transfer a Mr Chaiporn who had been arrested by Laos officers after he illegally entered Laos. He was released and sent back to Thailand at the Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge immigration. He was then taken to Mukdaharn in order to check his criminal history.
 
Upon inspecting they found that Mr Chaiporn was the wanted by Pattaya court for escaping from prison. He admitted that the court order was his so he was held pending a court appearance.
