Elderly American Man Caught with Boy in Cinema Restroom

A 65-year-old American man was arrested after police found him with a young boy in a theater restroom on second Pattaya road. Police had been notified by observers who saw the pair enter the restroom. After his arrest, the suspect confessed to offering the boy 300 THB to commit an obscenity.

PATTAYA – September 22, 2012 [Pattaya Daily News]: at 4 a.m., an elderly man who took a young boy into the restroom of a Pattaya theater was arrested by Pol. Capt. Arnon Infong, Deputy Inspector; and a police team of the Center of Protecting Children and Women, section 2.

The suspect was identified as Mr. Shapipo Paulalan age 65, nationality American. He was caught by police committing an obscenity with a boy under age 15 in the restroom of the Major Cineplex theatre at The Avenue on second Pattaya road, Moo 9 Tambon Nong Preu, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi province.

Police had been notified that an older man had brought a young boy into the theater restroom. Police rushed to the scene, suspecting that a bad event was occurring. The officers went to inspect in the restroom and found Mr. Shapipo committing an obscenity with the boy so they arrested him. Police also took photographs for evidence.

During questioning, Mr. Shapipo confessed that he met the boy, “A” (alias) in front of Central Festival shopping complex, so he persuaded the boy to come with him and agreed to pay him 300 THB, until he was arrested by the police.

The police restrained Mr. Shapipo and charged him with luring a boy age under 15 to do an obscenity, and sent him to the investigation officer at Pattaya police station to prosecute further according to the law.
