PATTAYA – February 3, 2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 6.00 p.m., Pol.Lt. Assawain Jantho (Inquiry official of Banglamung police station, Chon Buri province) was notified that a foreign man found dead in a rented room of Ban Inthira apartment, address no. 275/81 Soi 16 Pattaya-Na Kluea road, Moo 5 Tambon Na Kluea, Amphur Banglamung, Chon Buri province, so he reported to his superior then mobilized forces of police team together with rescuers of Sawang Boriboon Tharmma Satharn Rescue Foundation, Pattaya city, to rush to inspect at scene.

At the scene, a 6-storey apartment that was opened as the daily and monthly rented rooms, in room no. 201 on the 2nd floor the officers found a corpse of a male foreigner who was identified as Mr. Patrick Michael Fallon, aged 69, American nationality, dead on a bed. He was dressed only in his underwear. His body had begun to decompose and emit a rotten smell all over the room. There were no visible wounds or trace of being assaulted. The officers assumed that he might have been dead for 3 days approximately.

Officers found 1 bottle of wine that was already opened, 1 pack of cigarettes and 1 glass on a coffee table. Police also found the pink powder which they assumed that it might be one type of medicine that was ground with drinking water in a dish and a bowl of sauce which police removed as evidence from the scene. There was no trace of fighting or any untoward behavior in his room.

Upon investigating Mrs. Anong Mueanta, aged 43, who was a maid of such apartment which she told the police that Mr. Patrick (a deceased) had stayed at this apartment for over 3 months and recently he just got dumped by his Thai girlfriend which made him extremely sad because he hoped to have a good wife to take care of him. She said that during the last 3 days she saw Mr. Patrick go out to buy goods and came back to his room but she had not seen him afterwards until today when she smelt a rotten smell as if the smell of a dead rat on the 2nd floor so she went to see what was causing such a bad smell. She found that the smell emitted from Mr. Patrick’s room so she hurried to inform the apartment manager before bringing a master key to unlock the door of Mr. Patrick’s room where they discovered his body.

Pol.Lt. Assawain Jantho (An inquiry official who is responsible for this case) revealed that upon inspecting the corpse and scene of the deceased it is expected the deceased had committed suicide because they found an unknown type of medicine powder crushed and mixed with drinking water in a dish and a bowl as well as separating from his Thai girlfriend so it might be the cause that he decided to commit suicide. However, the officers have to wait for an autopsy result from the Institute of Forensic Medicine of General Police Hospital and an inspection result of such unknown type of medicine powder that was found at scene in order to be used as evidence in concluding for the exact cause of his death further.
