Elder Man Keeps His Wife’s Body In His After Passing Away.

Residents from the Wat Yom sub-district were captivated by an 72 year-old man who chose to keep his wife’s body or corpse in his own house after she passed away.

PRANAKORN SRIAYUTTHAYA – June 6, 2013[Pattaya Daily News]; Journalists and reporters were informed by residents that an elder man who was aged 72, kept his wife in his house after she had passed away. Once locals were made aware of his unusual decision, they came visit his house in order to see whether it’s a rumor or not. The 72 year-old man was identified as Mr. Tawee Wongson, the husband of 65 year-old Mrs. Somkuan Wongson, who sadly passed away on February 18 of this year. He laid various offerings next to her coffin in order to pay respect to her.

As he was telling journalists his love story to journalists, tears came dripping out from his eyes. He told the journalists that he had been in love with his wife for 50 years, they 2 children together. He said that they always cared for each other, no matter what happened. He said he regularly made lunch and dinner for his wife to eat.
Mr. Tawee revealed that his wife was killed in an motorcycle accident on February 18 of this year. He took her body back hope for buddhist ceremonies before he kept her in a chilled coffin in his house. Journalists were deeply touched by his sad, yet happy love story.
