EB Babies Urgently Need Donations

Two female babies in Rayong province urgently need donations to pay for their medical costs because they are suffering from Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) disease.

RAYONG – August 2,2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; journalists went to a rented room without an address room no. 38, Soi Prapa 1, Tambon Mabtapood, Amphur Mueang, Rayong province, after they were informed that 2 babies had been suffering from Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) disease which a disease that causes blisters on the skin after being touched. The journalists found Miss Wanida Pho-nang, aged 23 and Miss Samniang Songmueang, aged 48, who are the mother and the grandmother of the 2 female babies, aged 3 years and 3 months.


Miss Samniang said that she has very little income from 2 jobs and her 2 granddaughters are suffering from the EB disease. She also said that the disease which causes dry, rough and scabby (scaly) skin has affected her granddaughters on their heads, around their eyes and mouths which are open wounds causing the 2 babies so much pain leading to them cry all day. Miss Wanida the mother of the 2 babies said that she was unemployed because she has to take care of her children, and was also suffering from Thyrotoxicosis (Hyperthyroidism).


Miss Wanida said that previously her neighbours had taken photographs of her babies and posted them on Facebook to ask for assistance from any kind-hearted people who could donate whatever they could to help with the treatment costs. People then donated money by transferring it into her bank account but her husband stole her ATM card and withdrew the 20,000 THB which had been donated and disappeared. She also went on to say that now she is so poor and does not have money to pay for treatment for her 2 babies and would like to ask for donations from any kind-hearted people to help the babies. Journalists reported that after photographs had been shared via social network sites some kind-hearted people had donated powdered milk, disposable diapers, drinking water and money.
