East Water Tank Explosion Washed Away Houses And Cars

The Regulating well of East Water exploded after its first test, resulting in 2 nearby houses getting washed away by the high pressure water. It also over turned 2 vans.

CHONBURI – February 25,2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; The Regulating well of Eastern Water Resources Development and Management Public Company Limited, or East Water exploded after the first test causing high pressure water to escape washing away 2 houses and over turning 2 vans on Route 7.

Mr. Boonruen Noojor, security the guard of the Regulating well project said that approximately 21:30pm while he was doing his rounds he heard the sound of firing mortar coming from a 10 meter tall water storage tank. Within 5 minutes the tank collapsed causing all the water inside to gush out at very high pressure. It washed away 2 houses it also swept away a pickup truck and a motorcycle parked and 2, vans that where travelling on route 7. Three people injured. The injured were sent to Somdej Na Sriracha and Ao Udom hospital.

The Regulating well Project, Bangphra, is used to control the water pressure in Bangpakong-Bangphra-Chonburi water pipe and the sending and sucking of water from Bangphra reservoir to the water users of the Regulating Well project, in Chonburi, Lamchabang. The system has been built to improve the supply to the expanding area of customers whether they are domestic or industrial with a budget of 71.2 million baht. The work has been carried out by Cisco Engineering Co. Ltd.
