Holland, the 16th of July 2010: Geert Wilders, as the leader of the Freedom Party (PVV) recently placed third in the Dutch national election with 24 seats and is said to be forming international alliances to launch factions of his “Islamophobic” party across the western world.

Approximately 1.5 million Dutch people voted for the PVV in June, of which Wilders is the party head following his resignation from the ruling Liberal Party (VVD) in 2004. He left over the party’s support of Turkey’s accession to the EU. Wilders main policy is his fierce opposition to the religion of Islam, which has now spread to a new goal of forming an international alliance to block the immigration of Islamic nationals to the West and a complete ban on Sharia law.

Wilders recently stated his plans to start PVV affiliates in other, so-called western nations, such as the US, Canada, Britain, France and Germany by the end of the year. “The message, ‘stop Islam, defend freedom’, is a message that’s not only important for the Netherlands but for the whole free Western world,” Wilders stated in an address to reporters at the Dutch Parliament.

Spokesperson for the Dutch Muslims Ayhan Tonca recently revealed his fear that Wilders campaign of hate would ultimately spread as economic and religious tension in the world continued to muster. His only retort was to call on the “well-meaning people in Europe to oppose this,” very serious threat.

Wilders vehement opposition to the Islamic faith and what he labels as “Islamisation,” has led him to an anti-hate charge in accordance with Dutch laws, he will stand trial for the charge in October 2010. At one stage, he was also refused entry into the UK although a subsequent appeal has overturned the decision. Largely, Wilders has received opposition over speeches where he equates Islam with Fascism and often refers to numerous threats of violence that are apparently inherent in the Koran.

In regards to the UK, Wilders revealed that his emergent “Geert Wilders International Freedom Alliance” would soon attempt to occupy the “void” between the Conservatives and the BNP in the United Kingdom. Wilders is often labelled as a far-right candidate although he has frequently stood up for gay and women’s rights.
