Pattaya, the 18th of November 2009 [Pattaya Daily News]: Police Lieutenant General Sitham Chaosrithang received a report that a foreign man was suspected of bringing ladies back to his room for drug parties at the P.S. Guesthouse, Soi 13/1 off Beach Road. Lt Gen Chaosrithang sent a team of officers to investigate.

When police arrived at the 2nd floor room, they were confronted by an already drug affected Mr Hendrik Marinus Schrijer age 57, Dutch nationality and a Miss Damdee Phaikham age 23, from Burma. After a quick search police discovered 43 pills of amphetamines in the trouser pocket of Mr Schrijer.

Upon questioning Mr Schrijer admitted that he had bought the drugs earlier in the day from a dealer in Jomtien, for the amount of 10,000 baht. He also stated to police that they were explicitly for personal use only. Mr Schrijer explained that after procuring the drugs he picked up Miss Phaikham from Pattaya Beach Road in order to take her back to his room for sex. It was agreed between the two that the payment for her services was to be made in the form of 2 pills of the drug. The pair had already consumed 7 pills of amphetamines between them, before police entered the room.

Following a brief investigation it was discovered that Miss Phaikham was an illegal immigrant from Burma and as such did not possess any identification papers. Mr Schrijer has been convicted of use and possession of a class-1 drug, whilst Miss Phaikham has been convicted of illegal entrance and residence within the Kingdom of Thailand.
