Dusit Thani Pattaya Campaigns For A Smoke- Free Generation In Support Of No Tobaacco Day

To show its support to No-Tobacco Day, the management and staff of Dusit Thani Pattaya recently voiced their stance on the issue of smoking and visited Pattaya Muang 4 School in North Pattaya in the hopes of stressing the significance of the occasion.?

Every year, the hotel pays a visit to schools around the city to educate the youth about the ill effects of smoking. May 31st was No-Tobacco Day and this time, young students at Pattaya Muang 4 School participated in the fun activities that the hotel had prepared to inculcate in the children?s minds the benefits of not smoking and how to stay away from it. Part of the activities was a forum wherein the kids shared their thoughts on the issue. Staff of DFiT, the hotel?s fitness center also performed body combat exercises to show how people can be physically-fit and healthy if they refrain from smoking.

The activity was just part of the hotel?s various outreach programs for the society. Dusit Thani Pattaya has been a staunch supporter of anti-smoking campaign. The hotel has been presented the Smoke-Free Gold Certificate by the Green Leaf Foundation and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports in recognition of its excellent management in allocating more than 75% of the hotel?s total room inventory for non-smoking guests. Green Leaf Foundation, established ten years ago by six organizations including Tourism Authority of Thailand, Thai Hotels Association and United Nations Environment Program has been working towards environmental standards, energy efficiency and educational activities concerning society and global issues, among others.
