Drunken Thai Man Threatened Tourist On Koh Larn Island With M16 gun

A drunken middle age man who carried a M16 gun threatened tourists on Koh Lan Island. The local people couldn’t endure his crazy behaviour so they notified Pattaya police who quickly arrested him at his house.

PATTAYA – March 7, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 4.00 p.m. Pol.Col. Supphachai Phuikaewkham (Superintendent of Pattaya city police station, Chonburi Province) was notified by local people on Koh Lan Island, that there was a drunken Thai man carrying a war weapon threatening people and tourists in front of house no. 51, Koh Lan Sub-district, Moo 7 Tambon Na Kluea, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi Province, so he commanded Pol.Lt.Col. Preecha Nusaloong (Inspector) to mobilize forces of detective police team to arrest him quickly.

At the incident house the police found Mr. Sa-ney Boonying, aged 56, the house owner, he was carrying M16 gun size .22 so the police detained him and seized the M16 gun as an exhibit. After inspecting the exhibit, the police found that it was a genuine gun but it was unusable. Upon investigating Mr. Sa-ney, he confessed that previously he had an argument with his relatives so he took out the gun to threaten them but he didn’t intend to shoot anyone or to scare the tourists. He got the gun from a shooting gallery 20 years ago.

After initial investigation then the police charged Mr. Sa-ney with the allegation of having a war weapon in possession without permission before sending him to the investigation officer to be prosecuted further according to the Thai law.
